Campervan Electrics 101 – The Basics

Campervan Electrics 101 -

- The basics of how a campervan electrical system fits together
- Which components
- How they relate
- What size should they be
- The basic principles of an overall system
- Charging methods
- Storing energy
- Using electricity

We show how to calculate the size of the system (but you can use our free online calculators if you don't want to do the maths) for your designs. We will also give tips on how to build a working system without spending a fortune.

If you're new to campervan conversions or electrics, we encourage you to join us in this session. We will help you plan your build, saving you time and money in the long run.

We only focus on the living quarter's electrics for the camper part of your vehicle, not the base vehicle itself.

Meet the Speaker.

A long time ago, I trained and worked as a marine electrical engineer. After several decades I advanced to designing and building computer systems.

While working full-time, I also built overland vehicles as a hobby, combining my love of self-sufficient travel and solving engineering problems. Over the last decade, we retired and lived full-time in our DIY campervan builds.

I have written books on campervan electrics, professionally designed a few van electrical systems for clients, provided helpful information on our blog, and answered technical questions on several social media platforms.

Lifestyle and technical experience, all with formal education, scary stuff...
