Perfect bus for mobile tiny house conversion
This is a 2007 GMC 4500 frame, modified into a bus with a Glaval bus shell. It was originally a government-owned, fleet-maintained transportaion bus in Manatee County, Florida. My band bought the bus a few years ago, and we converted it into a touring vehicle. We removed the back two seats (currently contains 6 removable seats) and added a cage in the rear area for luggage/gear storage (see photos). We have also added a 2500 waV AC power system, and power sockets at each seat. This bus would be perfect for a band who wanted to tour, for camping or outdoor trips, or as mobile tiny house project as it’s larger than a sprinter, but slightly smaller than a school bus. It also has a much better engine than most busses in it’s category (generally similar engines are placed in larger semi-truck-like vehicles). The bus does not require a special license to drive. It has great side mirrors and a backup camera. The engine is a 6.6L Duramax diesel and it has a heavy-duty Allison transmission. Both of these things have run flawlessly. The vehicle has never been in a collision and we have kept it regularly maintained. We have also replaced the power steering hoses and replaced all the fuel lines. The tires are currently in good shape. This is a vehicle that will probably run another 100k miles AT LEAST, and these trucks going over 500k miles is very common.
